Kurt VanDeursen has previously served as an elder from 2007 to 2011, and rejoined as elder again in 2016. He is married to Mara VanDeursen and is father to Molly Hastings (Myles), Michael (Erin) and Tim and grandfather to Kate and Claire.  He and Mara own Ace Hardware in Sullivan. He has led a LifeGroup for many years and is very involved in missions. He enjoys running, playing water hockey and fishing.
Gary Carroll is excited to be part of the leadership team again. He is married to Brandi and has three children, Michael, Sara and Nicholas. Gary serves as Chief Deputy Sargent for Moultrie County. He currently leads a LifeGroup and he is looking forward to where God is leading SCC.

Tim Kidwell lives in Bethany with his wife Sue. They have 8 children, Nicholas (and Barb) Kidwell.  Courtney (and Rocky )Fultz, Brian (and Amber) Kidwell, Brad Kidwell,  William (and Dana) Hindenburg, Andy (and Kate) Hindenburg, Catey Harshman, Sam Harshman and 6 grand kids, Colby, Alex, Shelby, Iassac, Lilly, Olivia. Tim became an elder in August, 2016.  He enjoys working outdoors, and in his spare time helping his kids and family. He organizes the monthly Men’s breakfast at SCC and has been blessed to be a part of Student Mission trips and Easter Drama.   


Darrell Diener became an elder in September, 2016. He is married to Angie and they are parents to Kennedy, Addy and Rylan. They moved from southern Illinois to Sullivan in 2013. He has been employed with Coach House Garages for 28 years.  Their family joined SCC  in 2014.


Jerry Hartman became an elder in December, 2016. He is married to Peggy and has daughters Christine, who lives in Olympia, WA, and April who lives at home. He has always lived in the Mattoon/Windsor area. Jerry has been a Christian almost 50 years and is still learning and growing. He works at Premier Print Group in Champaign and Peggy stays home with April. He, Peggy and April have been  members at SCC since 2013.
