Jerry Hartman became an elder in December, 2016. He is married to Peggy and has daughters Christine, who lives in Olympia, WA, and April who lives at home. He has always lived in the Mattoon/Windsor area. Jerry has been a Christian almost 50 years and is still learning and growing. He works at Premier Print Group in Champaign and Peggy stays home with April. He, Peggy and April have been  members at SCC since 2013.

Darrell Diener became an elder in September, 2016. He is married to Angie and they are parents to Kennedy, Addy and Rylan. They moved from southern Illinois to Sullivan in 2013. He has been employed with Coach House Garages for 28 years.  Their family joined SCC  in 2014.

Tim Kidwell lives in Bethany with his wife Sue. They have 8 children, Nicholas (and Barb) Kidwell.  Courtney (and Rocky )Fultz, Brian (and Amber) Kidwell, Brad Kidwell,  William (and Dana) Hindenburg, Andy (and Kate) Hindenburg, Catey Harshman, Sam Harshman and 6 grand kids, Colby, Alex, Shelby, Iassac, Lilly, Olivia. Tim became an elder in August, 2016.  He enjoys working outdoors, and in his spare time helping his kids and family. He organizes the monthly Men’s breakfast at SCC and has been blessed to be a part of Student Mission trips and Easter Drama. 
Josh Hartman is a lifelong resident of Windsor and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Susan, since 2009. They have three children, Jackson, Bennett, and Sophia. Josh works at Springfield Electric in Decatur and is a volunteer fireman with the Windsor Fire Department and an EMT with Windsor Area Ambulance. He became a Christian at the age of 15, became a member at SCC in 2003, became an elder at SCC in March 2019, and continues to be very involved in the life of the church from teaching high school Sunday school and volunteering in Children’s Ministry to giving communion meditations, leading a lifegroup, and serving on the “NEXT” team for the building remodel. Josh is always there when something needs done at the church. In his free time he enjoys being with family and watching Jackson’s baseball and basketball games.

Josh Bushue moved to Sullivan in 2013.  He married Jill in 1999 and they have three children, Ben, Brett, and Kate.  Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.  Josh is a Territory Operations Manager for ADM in Decatur, where he has worked for 20 years. He was baptized into the faith on April 1, 2008.  His family joined the SCC family in 2014 and became an elder in March 2019. Josh is on the SCC security team, a member of a LifeGroup, provides communion meditations, plays on the church softball team, and served on the “NEXT” team for the building remodel. Josh enjoys outdoor activities with his family and is in that “chasing kids to games and practice” season of life. He enjoys camping, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and golf. His hopes and dreams include ‘keeping the kids out of jail… kidding… not really.’

Chris Wheeler was raised in Mattoon, was a navy Seabee, and currently works for Illinois Brick Company of Central Ill. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married since 2002, live in Windsor, and have three children, Kyhe, Kiersten and Kynslee. His family joined the SCC family in 2013, he has been a Christian since 2002, and became an elder in March of 2019. Chris leads a team of SCC servers and leads the Jr. High youth group. Chris enjoys attending his kid’s school activities, watching sports, and boating. When asked about his hopes and dreams he states that we would like to make a difference in his community.

 

Roger Edwards became an elder at SCC in March, 2019. He was raised on a farm near Windsor and attended Eastern Illinois University before being drafted into the Army in 1965. He retired after 20 years from Anaconda Metal Hose in 2002 and retired from USPS in 1997. Roger was baptized at the age of 30 by Ken Smith and has been a member of Smyser CC since that time.  He was married to June for 47 years before she passed away from leukemia in 2014. They have two children, three granddaughters, and five great grandsons. Roger married Patrice in Sept. of 2018.  Roger enjoys attending the Christian Home Builder’s Sunday School class and is the treasurer for them, volunteering as a server coordinator, helping with the monthly newsletter prep, giving communion meditations, and visiting shut-ins. Roger is always there when something needs done at the church. In his spare time he likes to travel.
